Dr. Tim Brown is a foremost expert and leading innovator who holds multiple utility patents in the world of sports medicine.

With more than 35 years of experience working with some of the world’s most recognizable athletes. He utilizes his educational background and combines his experience as a former college football quarterback, pro beach volleyball player, and skilled surfer/snowboarder as well as having plenty of first hand experience living through the frustration of injury.

In the early 1980s, while working as the founding Medical Director for the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals), Dr. Brown revolutionized the world of sports medicine with his innovative approach to functional taping and soft tissue treatment with his innovative SPRT (Specific Proprioceptive Response Technique) approach and was one of the first to blend different qualities of stretch and support (such as non stretch together with kinesiology tape) on elite athletes for functional, structural, and neuromuscular injuries and or correction. SPRT helps stimulate the body’s natural healing process by decreasing pain, improving natural body alignment, mobility, proprioception and sensorimotor control.

Dr. Tim Brown

“Take care of your temple. If you spend your youth thrashing your body, where are you going to live when you grow up?”

When Dr. Brown moved on from the AVP and became Medical Director for the ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals- currently the World Surf league) World Tour, his SPRT soft tissue treatment and taping systems continued to gain recognition with athletes and those who treat and train them.

After decades working with elite and professional athletes, Dr. Brown created the latest evolution in functional performance apparel: IntelliSkin. Initially designed as a posture correction shirt to wear during workouts, or throughout the day, IntelliSkin is now central to performance optimization, pain relief, and rehabilitation protocols for athletes and patients around the world.

Dr. Brown currently serves as the Co-Medical Director for the WSL, while being a Sports Medicine and Performance Consultant for both Hurley and RedBull High Performance athletes.
